Advantages of an international move

It’s probably a thought that has gone through most of our heads at some point in our lives.Should I move to another area?

This could be as simple as moving to another city, or moving country entirely, but either way the advantages of such a move are very similar.

The Advantages Of Moving To Another Area

The Childhood Race

When we’re growing up the competition is about sports or who’s the tallest. Later it becomes about women and it finishes with success and how your life is going.

We have no problem with someone on the other-side of the world outdoing us because we have no connection to them. However as soon as someone close to us starts to make their way up the ladder, it makes us panic and feel as though we’re not doing as well as we should.

This is why neighbours are in constant competition, or why people at school reunions lie. By moving away you remove yourself from this race, and the pressure is instantly removed.

You could be broke and homeless, but if no one knows you, it’s less of an issue. However if you start failing around people you grew up with, suddenly you’re the subject of ridicule, and pressure and stress are applied.

You basically become immune to criticism and hate when you move areas, which is a very nice position to be in.

Re-inventing Yourself

All is forgotten! Literally everything you’ve done in the past is wiped from history and you get to start again. Got bullied at school? Well everyone in the new area doesn’t know this, you get to be whoever you want to be.

If you were known as the skinny guy who lacked confidence in your old area, you can become the confident muscular guy and no one will know any different, they’ll believe you’ve always been this way.

If you were always broke in your old area, you can make an international move once you have money, and arrive as someone who’s always been successful.

No one gets to see you at your worst if you don’t want them to. Whoever you want to be from day one, you can be, there’s no past holding you back or acting as a barrier.

As far as the new people that you’re meeting are concerned, this new you is the true you that’s always existed.

Leaving Things Behind

Any embarrassing moments or negative thoughts can be left behind. The new area will make new memories and the old ones can be forgotten.

For anyone who’s been through hell when growing up, a move to a new area can present the greatest relief you’re ever going to feel.

This goes for money worries, deaths, breakups, rejections and more. You can leave all of that behind and have a fresh start on life but with a more mature and experienced brain. In short you can live most of your life again but in the way you wished it had gone the first time around.

Less Mistakes

As we said in the previous point, You’re older, wiser and more experienced. This will inevitably lead to less mistakes.

If you didn’t really handle a situation too well in the past, messed up in hundreds of job interviews or if you were terrible with women for example. Then again the slate is clean and you’re no longer a rookie.

You can start making the good memories you wish you made from the outset.

Everything’s New

There’s something exciting about a new place. Our dopamine begins to spike once more and even the simplest things become engaging.

This is something that local people never appreciate. It sounds crazy but someone in New York may hate the amount of people and traffic, yet someone from a small town thrives on this kind of environment and weirdly enjoys being sat in traffic and living that city life.
