strong collar shirt

Many people will say that a shirt is just a shirt. Most will button it up, perhaps roll up the sleeves and head out.

But there’s a strength and rigidity component that so many men overlook when it comes to their shirts.

This component is the floppy collar vs the strong collar.

A strong collar is one that stands alone perhaps all night and even for many night beyond if you choose to wear it again. This means that you have a shirt that looks good and can be worn many times before it starts to lose it’s quality.

A floppy collar looks like you’re wearing an old shirt, it gives you less support and makes your chest area look weaker. Just look at these examples below.

This is an example of a floppy collar. It makes your outfit look like it’s falling off your body and certainly takes power away from you.

This is a strong collar and you can immediately see the difference in quality and power. A man wearing a strong collar has more structure given to his body and face, it’s a serious power move.

The strong collar should also extend to the opening, where the first button can be found. A floppy collar/shirt will lose shape throughout the day/night and take something away from the look.

A strong collar will remain in place and keep you looking sharp for the entire time you’re wearing it.

One man who’s also seen in strong collar shirts is Tom Ford, but then again as a global designer what else would you expect?

A strong collar can be something that you add yourself, which is time consuming and somewhat cheap. Or it’s something you can buy for that little extra.

After seeing the examples above, it’s clear that the strong collar is worth the extra money. If you pay for quality, chances are you’ll look better.

It’s such a simple touch, but next time you’re out, take a look at how many men are destroying their own outfit by portraying this weak and lifeless image.

It works in the same way as a high collar jacket/leather jacket and how they can give you extra support and the appearance of strength.

Next time you go shopping for a shirt, test the collar and make sure it’s right before you pay. You’ll thank yourself once you see how great it looks even in the early hours of the morning after a long night.
